The Morristown March
THE CHALLENGE:
It was time to celebrate the achievements of women since last year’s incredible demonstration of resistance through sister marches across the country. Since then, women ran for office, women organized, women told their stories, women listened, and women voted. And now is time to mobilize women across New Jersey to bring our POWER TO THE POLLS this November, and continue the march towards equity and justice. The organizers once again required a logo, marketing collateral and signage for this event, which was scheduled for January 20, 2018 and would be held in Morristown. Now that the location and goals changed, Gayle Rembold Furbert of We Design For Good, conducted a discovery session to capture requirements. It is important to note the relevance of the location as Morristown (and Morris County), which exemplified areas across the state where our votes and voices are even more crucial in 2018. We need to turn the tide by electing officials across New Jersey that share our values!
THE SOLUTION:
Gayle collaborated with the team to build the foundation of the brand and requirements for the event. We selected the colors red, white and blue to reinforce a patriotic theme. Gayle added the icon of the head-shot of three women to align with the national march! All the design assets were developed, which included the official logo, signage, and social media icons. The bold logo, strong color palette, appropriate font usage and overall brand gained tremendous popularity and built a huge following. Requests for shirts, buttons and signs grew daily. The design offered a fresh look and one that closely aligned with the mission and goal of the event.
THE RESULTS:
Designs were delivered on time, on budget and ultimately exceeded client expectations. Originally the estimate for the number of attendees was 4,000 – due to the brilliant social media campaigns, strong branding and easily recognizable logo the total number of participates was 15,000 exceeding all expectations!
